Citizens, elected officials, special interest groups, and local, state, and Federal agencies are encouraged to get involved by reviewing the information provided on this site, attending a public meeting, and providing comments. Opportunities for public involvement are discussed below.

Public Scoping

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the U.S. Department of the Air Force (DAF) conducted public scoping remotely via the project website. Remote public scoping was conducted in accordance with the 2020 version of 40 Code of Federal Regulations Part 1506.6. The extended scoping period closed on 30 June 2022. All of the scoping materials are included on and available for download on the Documents page of this website and will be for the duration of the project.  Comments, suggestions, and relevant information on the KC-46A MOB 6 Beddown proposal will continue to be accepted throughout the EIS process.

Draft EIS

The public review and comment period for the KC-46A MOB 6 Draft EIS started on February 10, 2023 and ended on March 27, 2023. The Draft EIS is available in digital format for online viewing or download from this project website and was also available in hard copy and CD copies at libraries local to the installation alternatives. A Notice of Availability (NOA) of the KC-46A MOB 6 Draft EIS and invitation for public comments was published in the Federal Register (February 10, 2023). Concurrently, a Newspaper NOA of the Draft EIS for review and comment and for the virtual public hearings was also published in the Tampa Bay Times Hillsborough and Pinellas readership areas in the MacDill AFB area, and the Spokesman Review and the Pacific Inlander in the Fairchild AFB area.

The Documents page also provides the list of local libraries where hard and CD copies of these materials were also available to the public.

Public Hearings: During the Draft EIS public review and comment period, the DAF conducted two virtual public hearings; one virtual public hearing was held in the local time of each installation alternative. The schedule and details for accessing the virtual public hearings is included in the table below.
